Interesting article----a multitude of causitive factors play into this one but they usually end up with poor results as we are seeing. If you have a hovering parent they isn't much incentive to even learn how to fly. Some of these parents hover in Cobras to blast away at anything that may cause thier offspring to actually work or become responsible. Fun is everything!
 
As I read this article, I could identify "helicopter" parents from among my friends and acquaintances, but unfortunately I could also identify that other group--parents who don't take much interest in their children at all and think that their kids will grown up all right. Without receiving the parental support and attention necessary for that to happen, it just never does.
