Ginger Baker is definitely in the top 10.
I don't think he was ever better than Bonham however.

Pupps' nomination, Carl Palmer. Below is from 2009, at 59 years of age, the others still can't touch him.
It's got to be Buddy Rich, followed by John Bonham.
We're close, to a degree. Pupps has 'em ranked:
Carl Palmer
John "Bonzo" Bonham ( who said Carl was the best he had ever seen )
Buddy Rich
# UNO
i will go old school
buddy rich
Buddy actually came in behind Ringo, which tells you just how worthless the RS top 100 is!!!!!Rich did not make Rolling Stone's top 10 however.

I'll look for a video on him. Those spastic vids make me sea sick.Pupps' nomination, Carl Palmer. Below is from 2009, at 59 years of age, the others still can't touch him.
That top 100 is funny. It's top 3 are my top 3, only in reverse order.
I do. So was Keith Moon.Ginger Baker is definitely in the top 10.
I don't think he was ever better than Bonham however.
Excuse me, did you say something?RS is populated by a bunch of arrogant pompous asses who think their opinions actually matter.

Got to tell you -- my all time favorite drummer is Dino Danelli from the Young Rascals. One the most under-appreciated drummers in Rock history. He blew me away every time on solos. If you get bored, in this 13 minutes, skip around, he's amazing. And you could tell from the studio tracks how expressive he was with the standard stuff.

Yes, he was a very good drummer. Watch this Peart video, the solo starts at 3:58 but it get's interesting at the 5:30 mark.
