(Note: posting the whole thing because LAT requires registration and has pop-ups - in other words, it is a very annoying site)

Blacks are beginning to figure out that after 40 years of the Demos saying they are best for Blacks and minorities, they are coming to grips that their plight is worse off now and that they have only been used by Demos for votes and as a way to higher political office. What a sham Demos have pulled on Blacks!

The dems have taken the black vote for granted since the 60's, when they were able to convince them that it was democrats who were able to get through the Civil Rights Act. Then came the years of 'handouts' aimed at the blacks, to keep them in servitude to the party.

Well guess what? Many are beginning to wake up to the truth of history, including the Democratic Party thinks very little of any minorities, who will not shut up and vote the party. Sort of a Chirac lesson here.

its great news for everyone, except those democrats who want to keep lying to themselves

it will make the democrats become more competitive and open-minded (at least those who realize they are losing one of their key blocs)

it will give the republicans a stronger edge on moral issues and social issues, perhaps even giving greater momentum to those republicans who are saying "gays and abortion" should not be the only social issues conservatives tackle.

it is good for blacks because they are no longer taken for granted, they have a real forum for their voice and opinion. many of the far left blacks will lose influence and power as a result of this, which is good, because they're just as poisionous to the community as drugs, poverty, bad laws and gov't welfare is.
