OKLAHOMA CITY (AP & KOCO) — Police say a man armed with a pistol walked into an Oklahoma City restaurant and opened fire, wounding two people, before being shot dead by an armed civilian in the parking lot.

The shooting happened about 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Louie's On The Lake, a restaurant on Lake Hefner in the Oklahoma capital.

Police Capt. Bo Matthews says a woman and a female juvenile were undergoing surgery for gunshot wounds but apparently "are going to survive." A man suffered a broken arm while trying to escape.

No identities have been released.

Matthews says the shooting appeared to be a random act.

We keep hearing about these events. Mass shooter goes in someplace full of people, and starts firing randomly. Almost immediately (before he can do much damage), he is shot dead by a good guy with a gun.

It happened this evening at a restaurant in Oklahoma City, with the gunman wearing shooting ear covers. He came in and just starting randomly shooting at people. 2 people (a woman and a girl) were hit and taken to a hospital. Gunman hasn't been identified yet (4 hours after the attack).

100 witnesses are being interviewed by police - just to show how bad this could have been if the gunman had not been stopped quickly as he was. This attack brings back memories of the 2002 LAX shooting where an Egyptian terrorist, Ahmed Mohammed Hadayet, stormed into the crowded airport, firing a pistol, killing 2 people and wounding 3 others, only to be shot dead right on the spot, by a good guy with a gun, preventing what surely would have been a bloodbath massacre.

It's also similar to the 2015 attack on a school in Garland, TX when 2 Muslim terrorists drove up and started shooting, but were stopped and shot dead by by police guards at the school.
