I didn't see this topic brought so I thought this would be a good discussion.

What do you think of gambling laws, do you think gambling should be illegal or just heavily restricted or ... what.

This is a real tough one for me because to me gambling almost seems like a scam.

What I mean is in a proper scam you have 0 odds of getting big money and in a casino your odds of getting big money are very low (from what I hear).

Then there's the lottery which guarantees a 1 in 300 million odds of winning big, but don't worry they put that in small print on the bottom of every ticket.

Isn't gambling already illegal in most states?

What's your point? Are you for or against gambling?

I'm indecisive frankly, I just thought we could spark discussion. And gambling doesn't have to be casinos it could be a horse track or aforementioned lottery. Any big organized gambling.

Gee.... What about bingo? That's also gambling. But it's "for a good cause", as is, supposedly, the lottery -- designated for education, ya know. Should we educate our youth how to calculate the odds? Now that would be an interesting math project....

As for casino gambling, it's legal in a few states, and on cruise ships of course. Interesting, to me anyway, that they will float you a loan to gamble, and also, simultaneously, advertise "Bet with your head, not over it." Wonder what the percentages are for that?

As bad as the odds are though, on the seldom visits to Atlantic City, I go with a specific amount of spending money and with the attitude that it's an entertaining day/night of fun.
