Normandy was defensive too because we held defensive positions!
Guadalcanal was an offensive operation. Cherry picking a few counteroffensives during the taking of the island from the enemy is laughable.
I was going to mention Normandy ..you screwed up again
....as I just stated and stated previously, at the Canal, the US did RAIDS and PATROLS--these were not major offensives and did NOT gain much--IF ANY--territory
...in Normandy, Monty went on many MAJOR offensives designed to BREAK OUT--gain territory--where as at the Canal they did not
