    If/when the USA collapses as a democracy, it will be because of it's own government. And the underlying cause will be because the people realized that they could vote themselves money from the treasury.

    No, it will because the people have abdicated their influence on the government, it's been trending that way for years. The old, "Government/politicians suck and there is no point in voting..." much less getting more active. :coffee3:

    Absolutely, Kathianne. The people are the real power in America, but they are willingly abdicating their responsibilities to another power. Those elected people in Washington, D.C. are our employees. We should be telling them what we want done. That's how democracy works. The topic of this post is a good one. It makes one wonder if a democracy can last among a lazy, uninformed, and uninterested people who take their freedom for granted.
