    France and Germany are trying to buck up the EU. Fine, let them. It will be interesting to see the power plays now in NATO.

    France and the socialist government in Germany are trying to increase the fledgling EU defense force and minimize, if not eliminate, NATO. The German attitude toward NATO may improve when Schroeder is voted out of office in September. What kind of military organization cannot even agree on airlifting security forces to Darfur?

    There is no excuse for the delay upon delay. That includes the US.
