Ford says Trump tarriffs will cost company $1 Billion in profits

Trump metals tariffs will cost Ford $1 billion in profits, CEO says

Another example of Trump's alternative universe economy.

Did they have anything to say about the tax cuts and deregulation for which they have benefited?

They can leave America and give up that marketshare to the competitor if they don't like it. Careful though if you move to Canada, Trumps seems eager to hit us with an auto tariff...

Trump has pretty much given Ford the option to make and sell autos in America, or the rest of the world. They have pretty much announced, "the rest of the world". Ford is closing down American plants manufacturing everything except trucks and SUV's in America. Another example of Trump making America great again.

They can do so, that's up to them. I'm telling you, people will buy from competitors who will enjoy record low tax rates. If Trump decides to hit the EU or in particular, Canada with an auto tariff, they will learn that it's wiser to employ Americans and sell in America than otherwise.

It's not a perfect situation, but America has been facing massive tariffs and barriers for some time.

So, given a choice between building and selling in America, and building and selling in the rest of the world combined, you feel that it is wiser to forgo the world market...

Ford is not the only company with major complaints about tariffs and tax cuts that aren't. Every major company that uses imported products, from walmart to General motors, all are feeling the pinch of tRumps dump.
