You almost gotta laugh. Forty years ago lefties celebrated the Supreme Court decision that burning the Flag was a 1st Amendment right. You could hardly walk down a city street in the summer without seing a Flag burning. Six or seven years ago progressives (as they like to call themselves these days) called the commander of US Forces "betray-us". Democrat politicians called Marines "murderers" and Soldiers "terrorists". Now that we have a socialist in the white house lefties proclaim themselves "super-patriots". Expanded government spending by pledging to put a man on the moon by the end of the 1960s. Provided armed federal troops to guard the Freedom Riders and expanded civil rights guarantees. Saw the pitfalls of the ill-conceived Bay of Pigs invasion. Created the Peace Corps.

All while Conservatives banked the fires of resistance to Civil Rights, tried to reduce federal spending on public programs and, like Goldwater, wanted to build more and more powerful thermonuclear weapons at great expense.

Conservatives are shameless when it comes to trying to hijack the heroes of Liberals. Hell, I've read on this board more than once that some Conservatives want to claim Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. as one of their own.

Hello everyone. I am so glad to find this group. I was on youtube a few minutes ago, and got really angry. They had a video about how much lower down the USA has fallen recently in the income and quality of life for it's citizens compared to many other countries. It told viewers that they might consider moving to Canada.
If we didn't spend so much of our countries wealth paying foreign aid, answering distress calls with support and clean-up / repairing damage, tolerating refugees (legal and otherwise), and being pressed upon to be other countries militia / peace-keeping force, we would be doing GREAT!!!
