John Wayne's America

Just a couple reminders why we need to save America from the Liberals, the Socialist, the Muslims and the illegal aliens.

America could use John Wayne right now. Now every actor just talks crap about our great country.

I miss Audie Murphy

A real American hero

That he was, RW; about as much the genuine article as anyone is ever likely to see, before he ever got to Hollywood. A nineteen year-old with every decoration for valor the United States Army can bestow; doesn't get much more "real" than that.

You know, though, these days, you do see a lot more Hollywood types running down America, than building her up; seems being ashamed of your country is the latest fad out there, which is a sad comment on the state of our popular culture these days.

It sure is odd they talk trash about the same country that made them rich.

Most of the people who call themselves patriots are the complete opposite. They're toadies of the state being exploited by the very entity which fucks them over daily. Hilarious in a bizarre, sad way. As this country and it's supposed freedoms are flushed down the toilet, "patriots" still wave a flag in celebration of a non-existent America of yesteryear. It's time to take the rose-colored glasses off, smash them under our collective foot and start anew.

This is real patriotism. Questioning what you're country is doing while still doing everything in your power to make it better.

You mean like Rush Limbaugh saying he wants the President to fail?

Sorta ironic but one of the great liberals won the big war and saved the nation from the policies that lead to the great depression and the loss of hope in the America experiment for justice for all.

"Beware the leader who bangs the drum of war in order to whip the citizenry into a patriotic fervor. For patriotism is indeed a double-edged sword. It both emboldens the blood, just as it narrows the mind. And when the drums of war have reached a fever pitch and the blood boils with hate and the mind has closed, the leader will have no need in seizing the rights of the citizenry. Rather, the citizenry, infused with fear and patriotism, will offer up all of their rights to the leader and gladly so. How do I know? For this is what I have done." Julius Caesar
