FOOLS' NAMES & FOOLS' FACES ARE OFTEN SEEN IN PUBLIC PLACES
Slavery was an institution of such magnitude and such horror
as,
when coupled with such issues as tariffs,
resulted in an effort of eleven slave-holding States
to secede from the Union,
thus creating the American Civil War (1861-1865)
Those who sought to secede lost that war.
and, fortunately,
today,
though the federal government is far off its constitutional base,
and though it is utterly corrupt,
and though to has reduced,
and though it seeks to further curtail our liberties and freedoms,
we are one people with no animosity within the great majority
and with nothing but friendship between the states.
Pressed hard enough,
we might revolt
against the stupidity
of those who presently rule us
and by the use of force
retake and reshape our Constitution.
But there is no deep divide
betwen those who make up the great majority of our people,
and there is but one state
that might profit for a time by seceding
but should it do so
it would not be strong to long endure,
Fools' names and fools' faces
are often seen in public places,
and the petitions are naught
but one of those places.
