Feeling the Bern?

No, I don't feel the Bern. The reason is that socialists want the power to spend your money the way they see fit. They live in a childmind state where they envision a country like a family with parental care and guidance. The more dependent your mentality the more socialism will appeal. I'm a very independent individual and will fight to be free.

Fair enough. But isn't that true about all politicians? Why are we 17 Trillion Dollars in debt? Where did the money go? Obviously, Congress spent the money how they saw fit. What do average American citizens have to show for that debt? other than an obligation to pay it?
Well, it got doubled fairly recently and the economy isn't showing much in the way of results. No, not all politicians want us to be micro managed by DC bureaucrats, that's the hallmark of the left. Democrats have moved so far to the left there isn't a distinction between them and Bernie any more.

From what I understand, the national debt tally now reflects the debt that was derived from our national "war on terror", which was previously kept "off the books". Perhaps you could find the facts for us and explain why our national debt "doubled fairly recently". Perhaps, if we have all the facts, then the finger pointing to assign blame can commence in earnest.

Let's talk about the social democratic line that extends from left to right. I envision the center of the line as the place where social justice occurs. That's the place where the workers and the capitalists of this country are both treated fairly, where both classes of individuals thrive, and where our country is indeed the greatest country in the world. Social justice requires our society to install practical safety nets to maintain that healthy equilibrium.

To the extent that we -- as a nation -- already sit far right of center, a little move to the left should not be a frightening prospect. And yet, we have been "trained" by the powerful elite to use the terms "right" and "left" as derogatory terms to be flung at each other like poop scooped from the bowels of an outhouse. The right vs. left dichotomy is an instrument of divide and conquer politics. Can we have a rational discussion about the current state of our country without throwing poop at each other? I hope so.

I don't give a rats ass where you point your finger. Blaming it on the wars is senseless, we spend far more on entitlements and it's growing exponentially. Wars that the Dems voted for, btw.

Obama presidency to end with $20 trillion national debt
When Mr. Obama took over in January 2009, the total national debt stood at $10.6 trillion. That means the debt will have very nearly doubled during his eight years in office, and there is much more debt ahead with the abandonment of “sequestration” spending caps enacted in 2011.

If you really believed your first sentence, you wouldn't have written the second.

Show us the data that prove your first sentence.

Hillary already 10 percent behind wacko Sanders. Wouldn't be surprised if she gets New Hampshire after slicing up Sanders from last debate.

I don't want anyone's property, I've already got my own, however, I would like to see some investment in THIS country for a change.

Then what you want is true Conservatism, which is made up of..... Nationalism, Traditionalism, Morality, and Isolationism. NOT Socialism.

Whatever true Conservatism or true Progressivism may be, neither side owns a monopoly on nationalism, traditionalism, morality, etc., however those terms may be defined. Take morality, for example. Perhaps Citizen A's sense of morality is different than Citizen B's sense of morality. Each citizen in this country is free to apply his own moral standards to his own life, but he does not have the right to impose his morals on everyone else in society through the operation of our laws. So long as a citizen's neighbor isn't causing him harm, the citizen should mind his own business. That's called freedom, i.e., LIBERTY & JUSTICE for ALL.

Nationalism? I believe all those who identify themselves as "liberal" or "conservative" have most of the same reasons to be proud of country, our accomplishments throughout our history, and our melting pot of citizens. In this country, we're not required to take an oath of loyalty to any Fuhrer, so to speak, out of fear of being whisked away to a death camp.

Isolationism? I don't know how you define "isolationism". All persons of every ilk know we can't be the policeman of every country in the world. We don't have the resources to combat social injustice wherever it may exist beyond our borders. Wars of choice, rather than wars of necessity, must be avoided because they will destroy us. We need to address social injustice within the borders of our own country and lead by example.

Socialism? We're not a purely socialist country nor are we a purely capitalist country. We are a nation of laws, not of men. That means government regulation exists for the common good. Throwing out the word "socialism" as some sort of dirty word simply ignores the constitutional structure of our country.

Feeling the Bern? I am. I even contributed money to his campaign. I've never done that before. Not even for Obama even though I truly hoped he would be the harbinger of change. I'm disappointed.

Here's a good reason why I support Bernie Sanders for President of the United States:

Don't complain about money in politics, and never complain about lying politicians if Bernie Sanders isn't our next president. You have your chance to elect an honest, fearless candidate for president, and if you choose the wrong person, simply don't complain when the next financial collapse costs you a business, or your house.

I'm not going to settle for Hillary.

Bernie Sanders has gained a lot of popularity by proposing what strategists may call “real change” ideas. It’s not just about maintaining the status quo, but fighting Wall Street for their damages on the economy, fighting for healthcare as a human right, and fighting for every kid to be given a chance at a college education. Clinton’s ad seems to suggest that all this “real change” is too idealistic, which may hold some truth.

However, by outright using that as a reason to support her, what Clinton’s ultimately saying is: “real change is impossible, so settle for me.” Not the best motivation speech.

Ugh. If Hillary is the candidate, I won't vote.

I don't want any of those crazy Republican candidates anywhere near the White House (and all of them are many times worse than G.W. Bush).

Are you tired of candidates saying what you want to hear to get your vote, and then forgetting about you until the next time they want your vote? I am. We're heading toward another major collapse and the billionaires will have enough money to buy up everything the rest of us lose. We have a corporate congress ... and other corporate cronies running our country for the benefit of the top one percent. Outrageous.

Do you feel the Bern? why or why not?
welcome aboard :)

if hillary's the candidate you won't vote.

and if bernie is the candidate we can't win.

so there ya go. but feel free to stay home.

I don't agree that Bernie can't win the election.

If he's not the presidential candidate, I will stay home. I won't vote for "evil" even if some people believe Hillary is the lesser evil.
I never thought Trump would make it this far but he has.

Hillary is by far the most experience and capable candidate but her age is catching up with her. Sanders does't have a chance getting anything he has proposed through congress. Rubio lacks experience and credibility. Cruz's own party can't stand him and his political philosophy is so ridge he will never be able to work with congress. Trump is just plain crazy.

Why does Sanders have to carry all the water for us? Voting him into office is just the first step. The next step is to hold each member of an obstructionist Congress accountable. If we're unwilling to take the first step because the next step requires further effort on our part, then we're lazy and deserve what we get. We need to clean house from top to bottom.

because 70% of the people in this country have said they will NEVER vote for a socialist.

i understand that idealistic college kids love bernie. i love bernie and would be happy to hang out with him.

but a socialist .... particularly a socialist jew.... is not going to be president.

go look up mcgovern. then get back to us.
Most Sanders and Trump supporters are not realists. They have no idea of how difficult it would be to implement their proposals nor the consequences. Even worse they really aren't interested. They just want to hear the candidate tell them, it's going to great, trust me. It reminds me of the 1933 federal elections in Germany.

You accused me of it before so the point stands. Plus you said: "Bernie's really scaring some of you." No, he doesn't scare me. If I thought he had a snowball's chance in hell he might.

Remember a couple debates back when Kasich said laughingly "if Sanders is the pick WE win 50 states". I hate Kasich. just STHU. don't gloat, boast or goad them. You see what you dealing with?

From what I understand, the national debt tally now reflects the debt that was derived from our national "war on terror", which was previously kept "off the books"

This topic has been beat to death. There is an accounting of every dollar income/outgo for FED GOVT. I have posted it at least 5 times. There is no secret War slush fund. Defense Dept cost ~$600bil per year if they sat and drank coffee.

And we still cannot audit the pentagon.

Linda Woodford spent the last 15 years of her career inserting phony numbers in the U.S. Department of Defense's accounts.

Every month until she retired in 2011, she says, the day came when the Navy would start dumping numbers on the Cleveland, Ohio, office of the Defense Finance and Accounting Service, the Pentagon's main accounting agency. Using the data they received, Woodford and her fellow DFAS accountants there set about preparing monthly reports to square the Navy's books with the U.S. Treasury's - a balancing-the-checkbook maneuver required of all the military services and other Pentagon agencies.

And every month, they encountered the same problem. Numbers were missing. Numbers were clearly wrong. Numbers came with no explanation of how the money had been spent or which congressional appropriation it came from. "A lot of times there were issues of numbers being inaccurate," Woodford says. "We didn't have the detail … for a lot of it."

Special Report: The Pentagon's doctored ledgers conceal epic waste

“This clearly is an unacceptable situation,” said Tom Carper, D-Del., chairman of the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee. “Federal agencies have been required to produce auditable financial statements since the mid-1990s. Unfortunately, nearly two decades later, the Department of Defense – which spends more than $2 billion every day — has yet to meet this obligation.”

Senators Warn Pentagon To Be Ready for Full Audit in 2017

And finally....

A new report has revealed the Pentagon to be fundamentally incapable of managing its own books, with money and supplies unaccounted for and doctored ledgers masking billions of dollars of wasted spending.

An investigation by Reuters found that since 1996, the $8.5 trillion dollars of taxpayer money that Congress has allocated towards the US Department of Defense has never been accounted for.

I believe that Bernie tells what he believes is the truth. I do not think that he lies. The problem is that he is truely bat shit crazy. He actually believes the crazy shit he says.

Guess you'll just have to wait and see how many of his supporters compare to Cruz supporters, huh?

Many of the far left drones believe what they say/post it is part of their religious teachings!

They believe every word even after being proven wrong, they still believe in their religious narratives!

Broken record, you're going back on ignore.
