I know, I was as well. I find it quite humorous that the FBI, with all it's knowledge and resources, "can't figure this out", when I was able to figure it out in less than 5 seconds and proved it in less than five minutes on Google. What are we paying theses buffoons for?

In all fairness though, it's likely not the field agents actually doing the investigation that "can't figure this out", I am sure they all know what his motive was.
