The SCOTUS has an historic opportunity this term to roll back the racially based government policies which have been so destructive to our society Even defenders of "affirmative action" like Sandra Day O'Connor could only justify this obvious violation of the 14th Amendment as a "temporary" policy to ameliorate the effects of previous racial discrimination. In reality, it has accomplished the exact opposite, fueling suspicion and resentment on both sides of the racial divide. How frustrating it must be for an accomplished Black professional to have this cloud over his legitimate qualifications.

If this president really wanted to stop violent crime he could. One law that might work is the following:
If in the commission of a crime a firearm is used, if convicted there would be an automatic 10 years tacked on to the conviction. Tens years for using a gun in a felony might be useful.
