Well, I definately wasnt born into wealth. Nor do i consider myself upperclass of wealthy. I worked very hard as a roughneck on a drilling rig, for several years, and then split off into specialized drilling. I think taxing different % for different incomes is just outrageous.. Why should I have to pay more tax than the guy down the road, just because I chose a different path of employment? As for schools? I live in a very RURAL area, and the school that my kids attend has 112 students total, from pre-k-8th grade. Either way, noone has answered the question as to why MORE tax on the 250k households would help anything...


Also, Im not even sure that it is correct. Like I said, Im trying to find out about this.

but there is a difference. someone who earns 30k a year loses 15% in tax. after tax, their income is 25,500.
someone earns a million a year, if they lose half, their income is 500k.
in other words, they have about 20x the money as the other person. seems hard to imagine that will cripple them financially

You could start out by explaining why this hasn't helped the economy yet.

Because tax breaks alone aren't going to fix the economy. If the economy is down as it is now, people and businesses tend to start stock piling money and not spend it on much of anything. When the economy is up is when you see growth. The economy grows when EVERYONE, businesses and individuals have more income. It is particulary helpful for businesses because to keep business growing they need to make capital investments in everything from equipment to labor to remaining competitive by maintaining a competitive wage.

I can give a prime example right across the street from where I work (a production facility). Wal-Mart is going to build a major distribution center here to keep the labor we have our production crew got a raise in an effort to keep them from leaving when the distribution center is built.
