Some folks around here like to harp on about how useless a college degree is, but that is obviously not so. I note that 5 of the top ten most employable crop of college graduates come from venerable institutions in New England. These schools also rank among the top schools in the world in terms of the employability of their graduates. BU, for example, is 7th in the US and 17th in the world.

No one has said that no college degrees are worthwhile.

But a cost benefit analysis should be done regarding the expense of a degree in a particular subject from the college or university a student plans to attend. Taking out $100,000 in loans to get an art history degree from a directional state college is likely a Bad Business Decision which will saddle the student with debt he can never pay off given his expected marketability.

It's not a business decision. It's babysitting from the deconstruction of family values and tradition.

Kids don't know where else to go, so they attend a mental hospital. After four years, they get a certificate that lets them know they're cured for a disease they weren't supposed to have.

I know it's no surprise, but that's exactly what happened. All these kids are socially alienated from growing up without Mommy and Daddy spending quality time in telling them how the world goes around. They don't have Church either for a backup plan, and their grandparents suckle off Social Security and Medicare. They just go to public school and get tossed into pop culture to learn about politically correct propaganda.

In turn, they enter the world lost, so they need to get institutionalized again. That institution tells them there's nothing wrong with them, so it gives them a piece of paper to put on the fridge with a magnet.

Then they come home and fart around, saying they made it but aren't really going anywhere. In the mean time, the government has student loans to call in while the deficit and debt are ballooning...

...and they all lived HAPPILY EVER AFTER!!!!

Wait. I forgot the part that talks about how foreigners are taking all their jobs while they still believe in multiculturalism.

You might have something to say, but we won't know until the coke wears off. Find a quiet place to come down.

Can you tell me what the value is of upper education without a social network to count on?
