The calls by democrats to change the constitution from election by electoral collage to popular vote is disingenuous, because they would not be complaining if it had been their candidate! They also don't seem to realize how difficult it would be to amend the constitution. For one thing an amendment would require 2/3 vote in the Senate and ratification by 3/4 of the states! The electoral collage worked as it was designed! The Founding Fathers did not want a president selected by the population centers of New York, Boston and Philadelphia, but rather one who had broad support through out the 13 colonies that existed at the time! If you look at the electoral map for 2016, Hillary won the East & West coast's and Trump the majority of the Midwest, South and Southwest! Democrats should be thankful the Founding Fathers did not establish election of the President by # of counties won, because a democrat would never win! In regards to the recount effort of the 1% candidate Jill Stein, it s a fruitless effort. If a recount in Florida in 2000 when GWB won by only 516 votes, what makes anyone think that states with a margin of victory by 10,000 - 70,000 will overturn the results? Since the GOP now has the most political power, both the states and federal since the 1860's to 1880"s instead of wasting their time with trying to delegitimize Trump's victory I would suggest that the DNC spend their time of figuring out why they were so out of touch with the people!

They know why they were out of touch with the people and they're not interested in changing anything. They'll just keep smearing and slandering with the objective of convincing the American people that Republicans are racists, bigots, homophobes, etc. They'll exploit every unfortunate incident that occurs and even help create them so they'll have an issue on which to attack the opposing party. Propaganda is their tool of choice and it has become the only tool they know how to use.

The electoral college does not work as planned, and the two times candidates never got enough of the electoral votes or popular votes, the House of Representatives elected the president...Making it a non-representation of the nation's citizens mandate..

The electoral college works exactly as it was designed, assigning to individual states the responsibility of selecting the President. It also provides firewalls against national vote fraud. The "popular vote" argument is nothing more than a dishonest attempt to misrepresent the clear provisions of the U.S. Constitution.

Democrats believe in government by tantrum. If they have a big enough tantrum they don't need a constitution.
