Agree and disagree. Yes, remain open minded and don't just "settle for average." Don't compromise your convictions just to appear friendly or agreeable. Otoh, always understand that there are upper and lower bounds to what is reasonable in any situation. Believing the sky should be the limit for some is exactly as stupid as proposing no bottom to neglect for others. Enough is good. Too much and too little are bad. That is where we shoot ourselves in the foot, time and again.
