The Republicans have great candidates, Rand Paul, Jeb Bush and Ted Cruz. Why Trump gets so many votes?

When you say great candidates, is that from a leftist view point??

Those are all run of the mill career politicians, they will tell whatever lies they need to get votes till elected, then do nothing close.

Cruz is a little nutty ......................

Rand has got some good ideas but not enough public support.

Because Trump is the only candidate who is honest enough to say the truth. People want to vote for a real man who isn't afraid of speaking as it is. Jeb Bush, Ted Cruz and the others aren't worth voting for.

People are sick to death of lying politicians. Trump isn't one.

He's a liar, he's just not a politician.

Ten Lies of Donald Trump Land Matters

10 lies of Donald Trump, written in 2012.

"In January 2011, Trump stated that “We have consistently said that we have no interest in compulsory purchase and have never applied for it.” However, as we now know, Trump requested that Aberdeenshire Council use its powers of compulsory purchase to acquire a number of parcels of land including those owned by residents of Menie. He's not saying the Truth, he'd saying stuff that will get him into the spotlight.

Not all Mexicans are rapists, clearly.

Trump's behavior is so far off the rails that it's tough to classify him.

The flood of videos and quotes and actions that will make him look really bad hasn't even started.

Don't his supporters know this? Don't they wonder what's going to come out?

.
Im really very shocked how much support he is getting. Talk is cheap. If people are listening to some of his interviews on illegal immigration, health care etc. It doesn't make sense. Except a bully and unrealistic. And funny.
I guess his supporters doesn't understand or see that.

I think the "pundits" are essentially right on this, that he's very effectively tapping into the anger and frustration of (some of) the party.

Because he's connecting so effectively, then, they're willing to forgive a freakin' mountain of, um, crap, nearly to the point of absurdity.

.

This is worth reposting every time this sort of thread comes up:

2012:

Rick Perry was at 34% in the GOP primary polls in September of 2011.

Herman Cain was at 26% in the GOP primary polls in October of 2011.

Newt Gingrich was at 33% in those polls in December of 2011.

Rick Santorum was at 34% in those polls in February of 2012.

...and every one of the above was leading at the time.
