Does Anyone Own a 3D Printer?

I'm thinking of starting a side business that requires using a 3D printer. I was curious as to if anyone on here owns one, if they have recommendations as to how hard it is to program one to make items, and how much it generally cost in materials to create small items.

Also I heard there is a kind of liquid you can put items in, in order to smooth the edges. Also is it best to have a computer specifically dedicated to the 3D printer or can you just hook a laptop up to it?
