How can we expect government to keep the nation secure from foreign enemies when they can't even handle the smaller jobs?
USDA will allow chickens from the U.S. to be sent to China and processed, then they will ship it back to the U.S. Considering the problems with China and their lack of safety regulations, I wouldn't want to eat chicken that they touched. Problem is that the government doesn't require the companies to tell us that we are buying chicken that has been shipped all over the place. And they don't have to tell us which brands have been processed there. Talk about mystery meat.
I thought the reason the USDA existed was to protect consumers. Apparently, they work for the big companies and allow them to keep secrets from consumers.
There won't be any on site inspectors at the Chinese plants. Not that it would ensure safety.
In another case, a food inspector failed to notice a serious rat infestation in a pasta plant. He was suspended for a week but the public union stepped in and the guy got his back pay and now they want repaid for his union lawyer fees. All on the tax payers, of course.
Tell me again why government takes so much tax money for us to keep us safe. They are doing a lousy job.
Then there is Monsanto. They can sell crap that will make us sick and there are no warning labels. The Obama administration is even protecting them from lawsuits when people get sick from their GMO produce.
