Some may recall this telling NYTimes article about Hussein, when they were still calling him god, Jesus, and the messiah...

But he did identify what he called “tactical lessons.” He let himself look too much like “the same old tax-and-spend liberal Democrat.”
The Education of President Obama

Of course one could go back to FDR's socialist regime...
The attitude of the FDR government can be seen in these words of A.B. “Happy” Chandler, a former Kentucky governor: “[A]ll of us owe the government; we owe it for everything we have—and that is the basis of obligation—and the government can take everything we have if the government needs it. . . . The government can assert its right to have all the taxes it needs for any purpose, either now or at any time in the future.”

"Dan Rostenkowski, standing next to the candidate in front of the cameras and the cheering crowd at the convention after the fateful speech, whispered to Mondale, "You've got a lot of balls, pal." According to Rostenkowski, Mondale whispered back, "Look at 'em, we're going to tax their ass off." Mondale says: "We're going to tax their ass off"

And, the recent Democrat Presidential Debates:

"Democratic debate: De Blasio wants to 'tax the hell out of the wealthy'

Guess who 'the wealthy' is.

And, after they take what you're earned.....

....maybe they'll do as much for you as they have for black folks.

Part of the Democrats fundamental transformation of America is the lowering of American living standards. Democrats want America to be the world's homeless tent city that all the commie countries can send their criminals to.

May I summarize you post to this: 'democrat' means 'dependency.'

And doing so starts with WHAT?

"Recollect the history of most nations of the world. What havoc, desolation, and destruction, have been perpetrated by standing armies! An instance within the memory of some of this house will show us how our militia may be destroyed. Forty years ago, when the resolution of enslaving America was formed in Great Britain, the British Parliament was advised by an artful man,* who was governor of Pennsylvania, to disarm the people; that it was the best and most effectual way to enslave them; but that they should not do it openly, but weaken them, and let them sink gradually..."
– George Mason, referencing advice given to the British Parliament by Pennsylvania governor Sir William Keith, The Debates in the Several State Conventions on the Adoption of the Federal Constitution, June 14, 1788

Never forget that in the feverish brain of lefty the prevailing statistic of economic disparity is the only measure of progress, which is merely a relative measure of wealth. In capitalist nations, the vast majority continuously climb higher on the ladder. The rate at which the populace at large ascends the ladder is only stymied by government policy in general and the rate of government regulation and taxation in particular. For lefty. economic progress is not increasing prosperity via economic opportunity, but increasing equality in outcome toward the lowest common denominator. "Fairness."

Hence, Bernie Sanders features the following communist filth on his website:

These days, the American dream is more apt to be realized in South America, in places such as Ecuador, Venezuela and Argentina, where incomes are actually more equal today than they are in the land of Horatio Alger. Who's the banana republic now?
Close The Gaps: Disparities That Threaten America
Now that was on his website in 2011, but even then "Venezuela [had] Latin America’s highest inflation rates, a chronic electricity crisis, and the lowest current growth rate in the Americas" (2011 Index of Economic Freedom, https://www.heritage.org/index/pdf/2011/index2011_highlights.pdf ). As for Venezuela's sociopolitical standing in 2011:

The Venezuelan government's domination of the judiciary and its weakening of democratic checks and balances have contributed to a precarious human rights situation. Without judicial checks on its action, President Hugo Chávez's government has systematically undermined journalistic freedom of expression, workers' freedom of association, and the ability of human rights groups to promote human rights. It has also harassed political opponents.

"Americans on average spent more on taxes in 2018 than they did on the basic necessities of food, clothing and health care combined, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics Consumer Expenditure Survey.

In 2018, according to Table R-1, American consumer units spent an average of $9,031.93 on federal income taxes; $5,023.73 on Social Security taxes (which the table calls "deductions"); $2,284.62 on state and local income taxes; $2,199.80 on property taxes; and $77.85 on what BLS calls "other taxes."

The combined payments the average American consumer unit made for these five categories of taxes was $18,617.93.

At the same time the average American consumer unit was paying these taxes, it was spending $7,923.19 on food; $4,968.44 on health care; and $1,866.48 on "apparel and services."

These combined expenditures equaled $14,758.11."

Whether intentional or accidental, Democrat confiscation policies.....taxes.....lead to both parents having to work, neither being able to stay home and raise the children.

See if this sounds familiar:

"We can see that all elements of the socialist ideal--the abolition of private property, family, hierarchies; the hostility toward religion--could be regarded as a manifestation of one basic principle: the suppression of individuality.... All this is inspired by one principle--the destruction of individuality or, at least, its suppression to the point where it would cease to be a social force. " Igor Shafarevich
The Socialist Phenomenon
The Socialist Phenomenon by Igor Shafarevich

Or this....

Abolition [Aufhebung] of the family! Even the most radical flare up at this infamous proposal of the Communists. On what foundation is the present family, the bourgeois family, based? On capital, on private gain. In its completely developed form, this family exists only among the bourgeoisie." Marx and Engels, Communist Manifesto, ch 2...
Communist Manifesto (Chapter 2)

Or this.....

After losing power, Leon Trotsky would claim that the reason that communism had not been successful was that Stalin had not been ruthless enough in his efforts to eliminate the family.

The Bolsheviks would be so proud of the Democrat Party.
