What would be the effect of more folks putting in their 40 hrs/wk in 4 days instead of 5 days?
How many employment situations would there be where this would be beneficial to overall production ?
Would energy costs be less for business ?
Not having to report for work on the fifth day, could automobile owners then choose whether or not to burn fuel on that day thereby effecting fuel prices?
What would people do with the extra day?
Would they spend more?
Would they travel more?
How would this effect the recreation industry and industries that support that industry and so on and so on ?
Would the initial jobs created be likely to be shipped overseas?
If people had an extra day per week would some use the extra time to start new home projects?
If people had an extra day per week would some use the extra time to start new enterprises? Is it possible that innovations might result in the backyards, barns
basements and garages across America? Might one of these be the next great energy innovation?
Could giving more people an extra day per week be the most rapid method to improve the economy ?
What would be the effect of having school hours similarly adjusted so that more parents could spend the extra free day per week with their children?
What if school credit were given periodically for quality educational trips taken during a few of these long weekends ?
Could this extra day of quality family time be beneficial to a childs overall education and wellbeing?
And the most important question, would America be better for the change ?
