Bills In Congress - Current Pending LegislationJust when I thought Congress could not pass anymore Crazy Law then the pass this one. It is on it way to the Senate where I bet it dieds a slow death.
Senate Bill S.510, the Food Safety Modernization Act, could make it illegal to grow, share, trade, or sell home-grown food. World renowned microbiologist, human rights activist, and Canada Health whistle blower, Dr. Shiv Chopra said of the bill, “If accepted [S.510] would preclude the public’s right to grow, own, trade, transport, share, feed and eat each and every food that nature makes. It will become the most offensive authority against the cultivation, trade and consumption of food and agricultural products of one’s choice. It will be unconstitutional and contrary to natural law or, if you like, the will of God.”
too bad you didn't dump cilantro.^^^^^^ too late------in a PANIC----I dumped my basil plant (from my window sill) into the toilet----------I COULD HEAR FED FOOTSTEPS
can we get some background on the law itself vs. go off a half baked post in a newsgroup and make up the rest to fit our pre-existing views?Bills In Congress - Current Pending LegislationJust when I thought Congress could not pass anymore Crazy Law then the pass this one. Is there any doubt remaining that the Federal Government growing / has grown into a dangerous intrusive, over-reaching, oppressive Socialist weed that is threatening to drag us in the very opposite direction our Founding Fathers intended in complete opposition to the US Constitution?!

"Hi, I'm the 'New Socialist Democratic Party' / from the
government, and I am here to help!"
When the police start showing up on your lawn and telling you and your small child they have to shutdown their lemonade stand because your child does not have a business permit, because the lemonade consistency is not regulated by a govt agency, and your child's friend who is helping sell the lemonade is in violation of the 'Right To Work' law, you know there is a serious freakin' problem!

again - in all fairness - how often does this happen? we can't keep taking one-offs and parading them around as a problem we must fix. when an "incident" continues to be an incident, then it's a problem and we enter the problem management of ITIL - but until then, it's just an incident.
ie - again, how often does this happen? we seem to like to bring up extreme examples of events and pass them off as commonplace and that is how we've managed to normalize extreme behavior these days.

THAT'S WHY THIS WAS A JOKE.....
Not everything that is posted is funny.
Not everything that is funny is posted.
But sometimes...SOMETIMES........
How is a bill from 2010 a new bill?
Sure. Here is some good reading. Keep in mind that the County which is Republican Controlled is doing this, not the Democratically controlled City. The idjit that tried to make it a Bad Democrat Problem, you should be ashamed of yourself. Steve Miller doesn't make a dime off his veggie garden. He sells at a break even or loss at the local farmers market and donates food to people that need it. I guess helping the Hungry is a deep sin to the Southern Republican and must be stamped out at all costs.
Wait a minute...it's not going to thwart the backyard growers and the veggie stands along the country roads. ------keep calm. Keep in mind-----in NEW JERSEY
(land of the mafia) every Italian has tomatoes and a fig tree--------and they ain't goin' no where..........
