That could be. The very interesting point about Amos N' Andy TV show though was it showed mothers, fathers, in the 50s.
Key word "mothers/fathers" families.

Very positive values -- Dads working, but here is what one famous black economist described the reality today.

A study of 1880 family structure in Philadelphia shows that three-quarters [75%] of black families were two-parent households."
