In an announcement that was already expected by the general public and largely a forgone conclusion, China’s Communist Party has officially cleared the way for President Xi Jinping to rule as emperor for life by announcing on Sunday that it intends to abolish a two-term constitutional limit on the presidency.
China To Change Constitution, Allowing Xi To Stay In Power Indefinitely

Oh the irony of this one taking place. China wants to disarm America too. We need to worry more about China than Russia not because of this but in general.

All despots do this, don't they? Want unlimited power? Just change the rules by intimidating the People's representation. This is the one reason why democracy (if maintained and not taken over by fascism like what the rainbow left cult is halfway through doing in the courts), beats communism hands down. We have a system of checks and balances communism doesn't seem to have.

Very disappointing news.

The fact that Chinese presidents in recent years have been limited to two terms was hailed as a great step forward in the development of "democracy with Chinese characteristics."

Now they are reverting back to the bad old days of unlimited power.

Of course, the majority of the Chinese people are happy to observe the gentleman's agreement in China: The people passively accept the dictatorship; the dictatorship in return will give you the opportunity to make money, live a nice middle-class life, have your children study abroad, and even let you travel abroad.

The big difference between the Chinese dictators and other dictators: Other dictators grab power but do nothing to help the common people, only their families and friends.

It was always going to happen. You could have predicted this back in October during the CCP meeting when no successor was named.

China has done things different to other dictators, but then the US is hardly one to go around the world shouting "Democracy" at people, is it?

Two leaders not elected by popular vote out of three leaders... hmmm....
