The CBP is the largest law enforcement agency in the USA. 48,000, which is larger than the NYPD. But, CBP agent's are arrested at an alarming rate. Drug smuggling, corruption, wife beating, DUI, and assault, plus more.
"If arrests at CBP continue at their current pace, Border Patrol agents will have been arrested at a rate of more than 0.5% of the overall force for fiscal year 2019. That is more than 5 times higher than the rate of arrests of state and local police."
Trump said he will get 5000 more agents on board. The truth is? There is 2000 less agents now then when Obama was in office.
Border officers are arrested 5 times more often than other US law enforcement
"Over the past 16 years, CBP employees have earned a reputation for both heroism and misconduct. Working under challenging conditions, they have disrupted dangerous smuggling rings and saved the lives of desperate migrants stranded in the scorching deserts of the American Southwest. But customs officers and Border Patrol agents have also run afoul of the law, often in extreme fashion. Every year, approximately 250 CBP employees are arrested, many on suspicion of serious felonies; dozens have been jailed in recent years on corruption charges, including weapons trafficking and collaborating with Mexican drug cartels."
