'The Congressional Budget Office slightly lowered its forecast for U.S. economic growth for this year, and warned of increasing uncertainty from American plans to widen tariffs.

The U.S. economy is projected to expand 3.1 percent this year, down from a previous forecast in April of 3.3 percent, the non-partisan group said in a report on Monday. The expansion will ease to 2.4 percent in 2019, unchanged from April’s projection, on slowing growth in business investment and government purchases, the CBO said.'

Also, the non-partisan CBO forecasts a 2020 Real GDP growth rate of only 1.7%.

Pretty pathetic.

Wait a minute...................didn't Trump and his cronies say that the growth wasn't just a one time thing, but rather something that was sustainable and would last a long time?

Did he lie again?

  • After-tax corporate profits also set records, as did stock prices. The S&P 500 index rose 166 percent.

I did NOT ask you what the Obama economy actually did, I asked what the CBO projected it WOULD DO. Next time, read before you write!

The CBO has also projected Trump will be creating trillion dollar deficits soon.

He's on track to bust Obama's record debt wide open.

If it wasn't so sad, I would have given you a funny and agree, but unfortunately, you might be right, and there is nothing funny about that.

I do however agree completely with your statement.

Yep they are doing a bunch of stuff right now when things are good then are going to clutch their cash and wait to capitalize on disruption if at all. Wages wont have increased and demand wont have increased enough for continued growth.

Don't forget about the tariffs. They are just now starting to affect people here in the US, and there are more threatened from other places like Turkey, which will cause even more pressure on the economy.
