Canada's poor health system that caused this woman to die after long wait in the emergency room?

People 'do' die in ER's. I think the problem is much bigger in America due to the poor and middle class relying on ER's so heavily. And too, as I mentioned when this thread appeared yesterday, people in America die when turned away from an ER on account of cost considerations and presumably 'class' considerations.

True, people do die in ER's, but a 7 hour wait? The problem is not "much bigger in America due to the poor and middle class relying on ER's so heavily." If that statement is true, it only makes the lady"s death that much more telling since the ER she was in was not being used heavily by the poor and middle class so should have had plenty of ability to help her.

maybe there were a lot of illegals who needed treatment in ER that day? they're more important than Americans, some say

In inner cities citizens believe that calling EMS is a right to front line service. And a percentage call for a taxi ride by the medical squads. to not take a citizen may mean potential racial accusations. The women working in the ER's may be African American and some will tell or question the EMT's/Paramedics why they take/took someone there. The price is free even with Oxygen. The inner-city hospitals though may not have the great reputation if only due to the amount of business they get. In recent years and decades citizens have been taken to hospitals much further out. Someone pays for this. Working class people are actually charged even with massive local taxes.

Underneath the big headline for that write up is this.

Doctors told family the woman had 1% chance of surviving and would not pursue surgery.

I once saw it said that country music legend Randy Travis had a one percent chance of surviving his health issues when they were first dumped on his plate. This summer, it will be a decade since that health decline of his and he is still here. :) :) :)

God bless you and him and that lady's family always!!!

Holly

P.S. A massive stroke is what Randy suffered according to his Wikipedia page here.

Exactly like capitalist medicine.
I dont think so

No capitalist hospital would ignore an emergency room patient till they died

The capitalist hospital knows the ambulance chasing vultures aka personal injury lawyers are waiting to pounce

In the socialist hospital all the employees get paid the same whether the patients live or die

Patient dies after waiting 5+ hours in hospital’s emergency department, regulators say

Hospital patient dies in waiting room due to policy violations

Thats going to cost those hospitals a lot of money

In a socialist system it's just business as usual

Dream on sonny.

Hospitals don’t fear lawyers. That’s a misnomer just like you thinking that shit doesn’t happen here. LMFAO!

They pay their malpractice insurance and add the costs to our bill.
