Can a liberal explain why Stalin's 5 years plans never stimulated the soviet economy

or what the essential difference is between an Obama Stimulus and a Stalin stimulus?

Actually Stalins industrilization of the Soviet Union was impressive, agriculturally they were failures, he killed 7 million during the collectivation of state farms. The Soviets did not have a Great Depression, they like Nazi Germany, Fascists Italy, and the Japanese were expanding their industries and increasing their strength, while capitalist nations struggled with economic depression.
As far as the the Soviets making it into space and giving the USA a scare over mass production during the nuclear arms race. they were fierce competetors.
The economic collapse of the USSR was due to totalanism and abuse. The economics of communism did pay women equally as men.. But they were starved of capital by the might of the dollar and military power exerted when collectively the social fabric of the communistic Soviet bloc nations threw off the shackles of oppression. This was not the first time revolt and revolution occurred under Soviet occupation, this last time, the mighty Soviet military did not attack the rebellion, they left the countries to their peoples will.

yes there is much to praise about the soviets, comrade!! If not for the evil capitalist empire it would have been so different. I'd even bet within the first 100 years the soviet miracle would have produced its very first consumer product innovation.
...such as glorious Dual-Dildo-Drive Tractor!

liberals aren't communists. feel free to ask a stalinist.

then why did liberals spied for Stalin?? Why did BO vote to the left of Bernie Sanders and lie about it? Why did he have two communist parents. Why is BO beloved by the CPUSA??
More vacuous statements from ed, the tea party tool. Any proof, ed? That is, from an actual impartial source?

Why are right wingers constantly comparing the former USSR to the USA?
Because progressives want the US to "progress" to the condition of the USSR circa 1958.
Again, more vacuous statements. Proof, Dogman? Of course not. Because you are simply a tea party tool, spouting tea party dogma. Kinda like ed, though you may not be actually affiliated.

I nominate this thread as the most retarded thread of the year.

Stalin's five year plans did stimulate the Soviet economy. The Soviet Union went from being an agrarian feudalistic economy under the czars to an industrialized second world country.

"The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under the name of 'liberalism' they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened." Norman Thomas

This was precisely the tactic of “infiltration” advocated by Lenin and Stalin.[3] As Communist International General Secretary Georgi Dimitroff told the Seventh World Congress of the Comintern in 1935:
"Comrades, you remember the ancient tale of the capture of Troy. Troy was inaccessible to the armies attacking her, thanks to her impregnable walls. And the attacking army, after suffering many sacrifices, was unable to achieve victory until, with the aid of the famous Trojan horse, it managed to penetrate to the very heart of the enemy’s camp."[4]

Buckley endorsed Chambers’ analysis of modern liberalism as a watered-down version of Communist ideology. The New Deal, Chambers insists, is not liberal democratic but “revolutionary” in its nature and intentions, seeking “a basic change in the social and, above all, the power relationships within the nation.”

spouting tea party dogma. Kinda like ed, .

why call it Tea Party dogma when you could call it our Founders dogma?? Why do you hate the basic principle of America for which they stood, i.e., freedom from liberal government.

Stalin was a right wing populist.

You should explain it.

if so our right wing might have spied for him and given him the bomb, but oddly it was the liberals who loved communism. BO had 2 communist parents and voted to the left of Bernie Sanders? What does that tell you??

You are hung on labels, North Korea calls itself a Republic. Do you think that is so?

I'm hung on words only when they are they are accurate. BO is liberal and voted to the left of Bernie Sanders and had 2 communist parents. The liberals spied for Stalin because they are closet communists as Norman Thomas said: The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under the name of 'liberalism' they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.

Even seen a liberal who said government was big enough??

So was the New Deal another watered-down version of communism? Have we cleansed America of the New Deal or is that communism still here? Did Reagan know about it, or was he duped too, probably didn't know about it, right? So what can we do to get rid of this watered down version of communism? Does Romney know? This is indeed scary and all those historian rating FDR as America's greatest president, just more evidence that historians are communist, right?

Wow, you manatged to get a quote from a fiction writer. I'm impressed. Do you also believe in scientology too? Cuz that was made by a fiction writer as well.

The new deal was just a continuation of the republican policies. FDR just made it sound like it was better. Boulder dam was originally called Hoover Dam because he was the one that started it.

My proof is seeing what progressives say and do.

Reality is what it is, and is not subject to your wishful thinking -- no matter how much you pout and stamp your feet.
