Bought gas lately?

Things we should do right now...

Require that all new 18 wheel trucks and public vehicles run on natural gas.

Require fuel efficiency standards for all cars and use tax incentives to encourage the production of electric cars in America.

Start a Manhatten Project for American Energy Independence to develop wind, solar, clean coal, biofuels(algae not corn), and safe nuclear technology.

Like the race to the moon, set a goal to reduce our dependence on foreign oil by 70% in 10 years.

It can be done. All it takes is the political will.
Fascist.

We already have safe nuclear power,

We are not going to cut our dependcy on oil by 70% in 10 fucking years. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE!!!!

Too much of our infrastructure requires oil and it would take much longer then 10 years to get it oil free.

You want to cut our dependeny on foriegn oil by a significant amount....

Invest in Green Technology

Solar- Solar needs a major revamp, it is not ready to be a viable means of power, solar panel main problem is they only abosrb 10-15% of the sun's rays, there are new technologies on the way to make it jump up to 60-70%, then we are talking a real viable option. It uses nanotechnology. THis is still some years away.

Wind- Wind Power is expensive and inefficent, ie- if it isn't windy. However it is productive. However, if you wanted to replace all the nuclearpower plants we have and produce the same amount of electric using wind, you would need an area the size of Virgnia.

We are investing in clean coal, brand new coal plants are built passing the vigeorus requirements by our government, and the tech is getting better. We can never eliminate coal, we have to much of it.

Nuclear- We already have safe Nculear power! The only incidents we ever had were from 20+ years ago and there was not one fatility. We have safeguards in place to stop full meltdowns.

Exelon Progressing Toward 3,000 MW of Emission-Free Nuclear Power in Texas : CleanTechnica

Exelon, the largest operator of nuclear power plants in the United States has filed a license application with the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission (US-NRC) to build two new nuclear power plants near Victoria, Texas. When operating, the plants will produce zero units of carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxides, mercury, sulfur oxides, and fly ash.

Exelon has chosen the Economic Simplified Boiling Water Reactor (ESBWR) marketed by GE-Hitachi Nuclear Energy. Each of the reactors will produce approximately 1,500 MW of electric power.

A first order approximation for the annual revenue potential for a 3,000 MWe plant in Texas would therefore be 23,000,000 x $72 = $1.6 Billion. If the new reactors are able to operate at the current fleet average O&M cost of $17.60 per MW-hour, that would leave $1.2 billion per year available for loan repayment and corporate profit. Predicting prices and costs 8-10 years into the future is a job for soothsayers.

Nuclear is clean and safe.

Also to get off oil as well

Drill, offshore and shale, we ahve th emost oil in the world. In 7 years we can have full access to our reserves and start pumping an dthen cut our imports by as much as 50%. We use our own oil till we have perfected our green renewable energy and the time it takes to transition to it.

Thats how we do it

that makes too much sense for the moron libs to understand

Nice deflection. No one's buying though.

Speaking of deflections.....

The only thing besides gasoline that will power an 18 wheeler is natural gas. We have plenty of natural gas. T. Boone's plan is a good one. Make all the new big trucks and public vehicles run on AMERICAN natural gas instead of ARAB oil. It is the only thing that makes sense.

The number one security problem this country faces is our dependence on foreign oil. We can beat it, but only if we make laws that turn us in that direction.

news flash for you

18 wheelers don't run on gasoline
they run on Diesel

Thats great for all the new trucks and public vehicles.

What about the hundredsd of thousands of older vehicles on the road? Should we force the drivers to give up their trucks and buy new "effiecent" ones.

You are so fucking delusional on how the real world actually works

Don't forget Andrew.....I still have to keep paying the payments when I give it up lol
