Really John?

In an amazing show of lack of any sort of originality, John Boehner has pledged to do exactly aas his predecessor did.

He pledged to have a "more transparent" House. He vows that the bills will be available to read for three days before being voted on. How very Pelosi-esque. We have been sold this bill of goods before. For the love of all that is holy, come up with something original.

If I am fortunate enough to serve as Speaker of the House, we will run a much different kind of Congress – one that is humbler, more transparent, and respects the will and intelligence of the people. No bill will come to a vote unless Americans have had at least three days to read it first.

It took years to drag Charles Rangel and Maxine Waters in front of an ethics committee.

Neither are going down without a fight.

It's all downhill from here for Boehner.

Yes, and Tom Delay fought it for all he was worth. William Jefferson was caught with cash in his freezer. Foley was warned about his inappropriate contact with underage pages and he still did his little thing. So what? None of your charges have anything to do with the regurgitated talking points that Boehner is putting up there.

Focus here.

Tom Boehner is making the same pledges that his predecessor made. The American people are being spoon fed the same thing they were 4 years ago, and folks are swallowing it.

Now color me a cynic, but I assume that when a politician is speaking they are full of it.

Did John Boehner impede Tom Delay's investigation?

Water's? Rangel's?

I do not believe that Boehner was Speaker of the House at that time. Was he? Did I miss something the last 42 years of my life?

Now, returning from the obfuscation here, do you tire of being told the same thing, over and over, by politicians? The same talking point spewed? The promises with the same hollow rings to them?

The man is a career politician. He has been in his various offices since 1982. 1982. 28 years. Am I to somehow expect that he is miraculously and overnight different than anyone else?

Are standards no longer desirable if you merely dumb them down long enough?

If the GOP is serious about "changing" things then John Boehner will not be speaker. He represents business as usual.

John Boehner will make an excellent speaker. And, Marco Rubio will be the most excellent of Senators. You guys got a bad case of the sore ass.

The same song and dance we hear for each new congress and some of us still actually believe it.

Unlike the faith based people I require some proof, I am tired of being lied to.

Now that I think about it, you're right. He's sounding just like.... wait for it... Nancy Pelosi!

Republican Minority Leader John Boehner explains why he handed out bribes on the House floorRepublican minority leader admits that he handed out tobacco industry bribes on the floor of the House of Representatives in order to secure subsidies for an industry that kills 443000 Americans every year. Even his fellow Republicans are shocked.
