This may be an indication that Ben Carson is not a complete idiot:

"Carson said he respects former president George W. Bush, but questioned the rush to war in the wake of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, saying there are "smart ways to do things" and "muscular ways to do things." People need to use their intellect to answer challenges, he said."

Republican field trains their sights on Donald Trump at second debate

Conservative members of this board are hereby encouraged to criticize Carson's comment.

By all means. It was the CORRECT decision given what twas known at the time and given that Saddam was a war criminal suppressing the masses in his terror state. The People deserve their freedom and frankly it is now up to them. The US was quite correct in maintaining order and frankly pulled out far too early. As for ISIS; Obama's baby!!

By all means it was the wrong decision, given what the Bush administration knew at the time: that Saddam had no WMDs, that he was in no way 'involved' in 9/11, and that he posed no 'threat' to his people or neighbors, as the NFZs were working perfectly and as intended.

Iraq and Afghanistan were failed, unwarranted, illegal wars.

Carson's not an idiot, he's just wrong on most of the issues, as is the case with the other GOP candidates.

Crap. Saddam was a mass murdering scum. It only became "illegal" when Bush went 90% and Howard Dean exploited the "anti-war" sentiment that is really an anti-USA sentiment. It was disgusting of the Dem Saddamite useful idiots to put such crap on the US Military just for political gain. It was a very short step from treason!!

Now take your lies and stick them where the sun don't shine!!

I wonder what Carson thought at the time. Not uncommon for people to change their minds later after they've had plenty of time to think about something.

No. He is a good and decent man with some views with which I disagree. I don't criticise people; most people in Parliament I know are very decent indeed...it's their policies where they become unstuck. Even then it is often a choosing between an OK way and a better way.
"are hereby encouraged to criticize Carson's comment."..........I have done so.

The decision to invade was good. WMD's were found, we give Iraq a chance. It all went to shit when obie pulled out. Iraq wasn't a fucking problem until obie arrived and reversed everything we had gained.

Bush didn't lose Iraq, obie did. It was won and done.

It's not lost yet.

They were not illegal - that is partisan bullshit.

Further, Iraq was not warranted but Afghanistan was. We should have stayed there and cleaned that place up rather than gallivanting off to Iraq without purpose.

They did the same with Viet Nam, same crowd.

Oh goody, the liberals favorite subject. Of course, the one that exposes their ignorance, their hypocrisy, their double talk, along with all of their bullshit.

Get this. They still wish saddam was in charge and torturing and murdering those same citizens they claim to care so much about. Yes, that is their hypocrisy. The same bags of shit who cry over the 5 sandNIGGERS who planned 911 being water boarded. get that? They cry over those smelly animals being made uncomfortable but cry over saddam not murdering his citizens.

Do you know liberals think Boooooosh is as guilty as Hitler? Yes, they do. Of course Hitler certainly has a lot more in common with the bags of left wing shit don't they? Ask the bags of shit what they think about the ONE COUNTRY in the Middle East that allows people to worship to their God with out being executed for it. They do not execute gays for being gay. They do not systematically stone their women by court order for BEING RAPED. Yet, those same do gooder pathetic liberals condemn Israel? Why? Cause of the so called Palestinian people that they pretend to care about? Well, there certainly was no Palestinian plight when Egypt owned that land. There was no "deep concern" for the so called Palestinians when Jordan systematically killed thousands of them on the EAST BANK.

Oh fuck it. They are not worth a box of old potatoes let alone any of your respect. Their stupid little Iraq subject just shows what they all are. They still do not know or care that clinton signed the Iraq Liberation Act for WMDs. They certainly do not know or care that the paradigm shifted post 911 on how to deal with countries that sponsored terrorism.

What am I talking about? They are all truthers for Gods sake. Wait, I am sorry. Not all of them. The ones that are not truthers are glad 911 happened. They like it that the America that they all hate was attacked. They love it that greedy stock brokers were killed. The Pentagon? You know they cheered about that explosion at their little drum circles as they passed around the bong, right? Do you know a lot of them are both truthers AND like it that America was attacked? Yes, read that again. It is contradictory, but do you really think a dumb liberal knows or cares about that? Do you know how dumb liberals are? There is no word in the English language to accurately describe it.

You think I am kidding? Tell me. Is there any reason at all to not hate the ever living shit out of them? Name one reason why they deserve any respect. Just one. Is that too much to ask?

Ben Carson evidentially inhaled a little too much anesthesia when he was a doctor.

Yeah and now Vietnam is a disaster and the world has come to an end.

Oh wait...

W's father was right. There was never a viable exit strategy. I really don't understand contrary arguments. Pre-justification that turned out to not be justified.

The middle east cannot be compared to Viet Nam. Two very different animals. One was a regime. The other is an idealogy, spreading like wildfire.
