This is near and dear to my heart as I am a bassist of both the electric and acoustic Double Bass persuasion. First off, three outstanding bassists do their rendition of Thelonius Monk's "Blue Monk":

Interesting. My brother played bass for about 30 years. Mostly electric. Rock, country, blues, a little jazz.

He built his own bass. It is a five string fret less. It is the one on the right. He made the guitar on the left also.
