My Uncle bought a T-Bird in 1957, right after he graduated Dental School. He went to the dealer, liked the car and bought it because the sticker price was the exact amount he had in his pocket at the time: $2700. That's his story and he always stuck to it!
It like my old man's Super Bowl. I was over there this afternoon and he was glued to the TV watching it.
I had a 67 Austin Healy Bugeye. That 60 CI engine got about 50MPG as I recall. It turned on a dime, too. Not at all fast but a real blast to drive. Lucas electric though.
