I remember seeing prop planes flying close support in 'Nam and this doesn't surprise me. A good deal for small air forces needing something low and slow.

Embraer?

I used to work for a Regional Airline that operates EMB-120's. One time a few Reps from Embraer came and told us all about their production methods. They are handbuilt one at a time like a lot of high end EuroCars. I remember one story in particular:

"You can tell what day of the week a rivet was driven by how straight it is. Straight rivets were driven on a Monday and got progressively sloppier as the week went along and by Friday a great number had to be replaced".

I'd like to see one of these up close.

Weapons like his indicate a shift in tactics. Prop planes flying low and slow only work when you have absolute air superiority and the enemy has little or no anti-aircraft capability. Sounds like war against jihad terrorists.
