Nope, no connection. Cops have guns, private citizens have guns, everyone has guns. People have had guns for centuries, and will have guns for centuries to come. Gangs, thugs, drug dealers, ex-cons, criminals, gun collectors, hunters, members of law enforcement, and many individuals have guns, and will continue to have guns. There are no laws, or other restrictions that can get guns off the streets and out of the hands of anyone that really wants one.
