"High Wire" by Peter Gosselin 2008 pointed out that CA housing was a bad future bet. Between encouraging the Mexican cartels to set up shop and discouraging sane forestry management CA has become a very bad place to sell real estate insurance so rates will explode but when?

Been asleep long?

Not only have rates exploded many companies are refusing to write new policies and a few are refusing to renew expiring ones. House sales have fallen yugely.

Premiums were up 30% last year. We made a bid on a property rented to seniors and our broker quoted a premium 300% what we had underwritten. Many providers have already fled the market. Progressive mismanagement in CA is making it worse

Well MA is not far behind CA and you still live there. Explosion means that title minimums have created a default and no one can buy the disaster except in cash.

The GOOD NEWS in all of this is that because liberalism is a self-destructive process, all you really need to do is leave it alone and give it enough rope to hang itself. No matter how popular, sooner or later, the radicalized leftist movement in America is doomed to failure because even a worm has enough brains that having crawled into the fire and gotten burned repeatedly, sooner or later you either change direction or fry.
