Ah yes, the change we were hoping for

As Senate campaigns begin, some Democrats flee Obama

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Spooked by President Barack Obama's low approval ratings, some of his fellow Democrats in tough November election races have begun their campaigns by distancing themselves from the White House and asserting their independence from Obama's policies.

In what amounts to a survival-first strategy among embattled Democrats crucial to the party's effort to keep control of the Senate, some candidates in conservative states Obama lost in 2012 are aggressively criticizing his healthcare, energy and regulatory policies.

He's POISON for this nation...and why flee NOW since they have been on board all the way until now?

Since they didn't read the Obamacare bill, they might have believed the lies and figured millions of people would be happy with their new freebie, so they intended to run on it. Now that it's been exposed as a complete disaster that isn't about health care and very few want to participate in it, the Dems are running from it like bats out of hell. They can't outrun it because they helped make it reality. The ones who voted for Obamacare will be reminded of that constantly by their opponents.

I'm sure they didn't anticipate such low approval numbers and now that reality is hitting them, they are in panic mode.

if they really want to show they disagree they should start standing up to his failed policies. lockstep party line voting is not distancing yourself

The Repugs have done the same thing in the past, but...

Now, it's the Dummies' turn in the barrel...

It's what happens when a politician turns out to be something less than a Messiah, after all...

It's what happens when a pattern of rule-by-decree begins to emerge...

It's what happens when you shove changes down America's throat, and The People grow angry...

There has been far more Disappointment than Fulfillment, in connection with Obama...

No wonder we're seeing early indications of candidates running for cover, and looking to put some distance between themselves and the Messiah that never materialized...

After having to suffer through years of blind adoration by legions of Orgasmic ObamaBots...

After the light finally dawned over the heads of many of them, and as the number of ObamaBots continues to plummet and head for the cellar...

There is something fitting and just and ironic and even comical about this sort of thing beginning to unfold, only a year into the Second Term...

All part of the self-correcting, self-repairing American political machinery...

Every once-in-a-while, some evidence that the old beastie is still working, the way it was intended... kinda-sorta, anyway.

Did the Democrats re-brand a large segment of their base as a "new" party too?

That is why they won't have any credibility if they try to distance themselves. They need to rise above party lines and show the people that they intend to repeal the damaging laws. First, they need to apologize for helping to pass the harmful legislation and I don't see that happening.

It's not just Obama they are running from. They are trying to run from their own actions that caused this mess and that just won't work.
