Baku-APA. An ancient temple belonging to the reign of King Thutmose III and dating back about 3,400 years was discovered near Cairo, the Egyptian minister of antiquities said on Thursday, APA reports quoting ITAR-TASS.

The temple was discovered by seven local residents who were illegally excavating an area in Al-Badrashee district 40 kilometers to the south of Cairo, minister Mamdouh Damaty said.



The diggers were arrested but later released as the area had not been declared an archaeological site before the recent discovery.

How cool! As an avid student of history and a lover of Egyptology this temple could shed some light on his rule and that of Hatshepsut's rule as well. I look forward to any of the new discoveries they unearth.

he was a child when is aunt/stepmother Hatshepsut was Pharaoh. It is spelled Thutmose or Tutmose. His father was Tut II and grandfather was Tut I. 15th C bce?
