How Cereal Transformed American Culture

More than a century ago, Christian fundamentalists invented cereal to promote a healthy lifestyle free of sin. Little did they know, their creation would eventually be used to promote everything from radio and cartoons to Mr. T and tooth decay.

Who knew? I was under the impression Kellogg started the cereal industry.

Why is the "Christian fundamentalist" issue so important? Caleb Jackson was a physician who suffered from poor digestion and ran a health sanatorium. He was also a Christian and an abolitionist which had nothing to do with cereal.

In today's click bait journalism there has to be a political or religious component to get clicks.
