Much like they stomp their feet for the survival of democracy while in the same breath call for the taking away of the right to Due Process for jailed capitol protesters that our democracy guarantees!

Worse perhaps because those protesters were fighting against a threat more pernicious than an invading army because stolen elections cannot easily be seen.

I always thought America was a republic, like we swear our allegiance to in the Pledge of Allegiance.

There is no 2nd Amendment right to keep and bear arms anywhere else in the world so the comparison is moot. Throwing a truck load of rifles to a mob of refugees is a sad tragedy but it has little effect when the wolf is at the door.

but yes, we were founded as a constitutional representative republic (from the word: res-publica . . . to the thing, the public thing, the thing that is public, the Law of the People.
