I wake, I rise, wiping sleep from my eyes.

The sun rises high up in the sky; I better get moving, time does fly!

As the shower flows while the water heats I wake the boy…our morning treat.

Finally, I’m ready to face the day. How sad they each start the very same way:

I turn my back on my little guy. I gotta be strong he can’t see me cry!

Out the door I always go- to work, to earn, to get the dough.

And every day as I depart a little pain does grip my heart.

But as I return each and every night, to see that look of pure delight, the joy and wonder and, yes, the pain

I gotta remember it’s worth it all or go insane.
