1.My fav of Shakespeare’s sonnets is number 65, which begins
Since brass, nor stone, nor earth, nor boundless sea
But sad mortality o’er-sways their power,
How with this rage shall beauty hold a plea,
Whose action is no stronger than a flower?
O, how shall summer’s honey breath hold out
Against the wrackful siege of batt’ring days,
When rocks impregnable are not so stout,
Nor gates of steel so strong, but time decays?
Sadly, the beauty that Shakespeare had in mind could be compared to America, if one recognizes the ‘wrackful siege’ of communism and its apparatchiks in the education industry.
2. Howard Zinn’s Marxist A People’s History of the United States, Is on one of the most commonly used sources to teach American history. Zinn’s book has sold over 2.6 million copies .... I was disappointed to see that even some of the members of one of the home school groups to which I belonged used it, totally unaware of Zinn’s background.
3.This was in a post of mine from 2012:
"Not surprisingly, irrefutable evidence has emerged that the man who hated America for at least 70 of his 87 years was .....Hate-America Howie was a Communist. We always knew that was the worldview of his heart. But now it turns out that he made it official. Hate-America Howie was a formal member of the Communist Party-USA.
Hate America Howie (HAH) taught a class on "Basic Marxism" at party headquarters in Brooklyn, N.Y., advising his "students" that the basic teachings of Marx and Lenin "were sound and should be adhered to by those present"; HAH was a pro-Castro activist and backed radical groups such as the Students for a Democratic Society (SDS), Socialist Workers Party (SWP), Progressive Labor Party, and Black Panther Party; supported a Communist victory in Vietnam, visiting the Communist regime in Hanoi (ala "Hanoi Jane" Fonda who BTW paid tribute to Howie upon his departure); in 1962, while President John F. Kennedy warned the Soviets to back off or suffer the consequences, HAH at his quisling best publicly protested the U.S. demand for withdrawal of missiles from Cuba ("hence," according to Kincaid, "Zinn wanted the United States and its citizens to be vulnerable to a Soviet nuclear attack" Attention, parlor pinks: Note this great nice guy humanitarian's wish for you and me was nearly 10 years after Stalin died); a video tribute to Zinn was posted by the pro-Marxist Institute for Policy Studies (IPW)"
Howard Zinn: Communist liar France, 1930's: A Fatal Flaw in Liberalism
4. “This Saturday teachers will gather at the Smithsonian (specifically the National Museum of the American Indian) for a continuing education class about Christopher Columbus. They will get lessons using Howard Zinn’s Marxist A People’s History of the United States, …” Stop Subsidizing Zinn’s Communist History of the United States
You still believe there is hope for America’s survival?
Zinn's history is unmitigated crap. The public education system needs to be repatriated by whatever means necessary.
Soooo.....when do you think that will happen?
Honestly it's doubtful that it will happen, unless the Americans get mad-dog mean enough to bury their domestic enemies.
Unfortunately, that sort of will has been "educated" out of the psyche of recent generations.
I think conservatives--true to form--begged out of the fight as soon as it began and now just wail and moan about the results. Again. True to form.
So much whining. So little action.

Today the Progressives own and operate the school system at every level.

I was educated mostly with a strong emphasis on memorization of a wide variety of facts combined with Socratic debate.
One cannot think critically about a given subject unless there is actually something in one's head about which to critically think.

Right. And rather than go INTO the schools as I have done, and actually risk something as I have done, conservatives sit around and moan and groan and cry and whine. Often completely incoherently. This is what I often hear from conservatives:
"I hated school growing up, it was a terrible experience"
And then in the very next breath, some variation of:
"And also school should be JUST like it has always been, these new methods and materials suck"
True to form is: the nature of conservatism is to sit around and b!tch and moan about something forever rather than ACT. There are notable exceptions, as you have mentioned. But the sitting around we have almost lost our nation.

Quite the bit of virtue-signaling there.
And, of course you accept a pay-check for going in....what is the conservatism you instill in students?
Please....some examples.
And, you've slandered every one who voice the truth about exactly what the schools .....with the exception of 'SweetSue,' of course.....and missed the millions of us who put our money where our mouths are.....and home school, remove our children from the maw of the beast.
In truth, you are a servant of the Democrats who own the schools at every level, and you will teach what they tell you to. You will not teach that America is based on religion, on morality, on unalienable rights derived from God.
That is the central thesis of conservatism.
And it says so clearly in the Declaration of Independence.
And, I have taught this in some classes I volunteered to teach for my home school groups.....at no salary.

That is the central thesis of conservatism.
And it says so clearly in the Declaration of Independence.
And have you taught that the Supreme Court has no basis for 'separation of church and state???
First. You realize the Declaration of Independence mentions a "Creator" and the entire nation was based on the idea of freedom from a STATE religion. And yes, with a firm reliance on the Christian God, which I deeply appreciate and regret that we have strayed from. And yes I know and correct people all the time that there is absolutely no mention of "separation of church and state" in any government documents.
But why in the world would I teach any of this as a music teacher...did you miss that?
Why am I required to respond to what college professors do and say? The college system is for the most part a nuthouse of Leftism and I'll give you that. I think you live in NYC and I'll give you that THAT school system is also a nuthouse of Leftism. But then look at the population from which the school system comes. A bunch of liberals.
The problem comes when conservatives lambaste every single public school system and teacher by imagining the second grade teacher down the pew from you on Sunday morning in Anytown, Montana is just exactly like the rabid Leftist women's studies professor at the college in Boulder Colorado or the high school teacher in NYC.
I mean c'mon. Why must we have so little imagination?

1. There are four references to ‘Divine’ in D of I…
1)in first paragraph ‘Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God,’ 2) next paragraph ‘endowed by their Creator,” 3) Supreme Judge of the world, and 4) ‘divine’ Providence, last paragraph.
This is important because our historic documents memorialize a government based on individuals born with inalienable rights, by, in various references, by the Divine, or Nature’s God, or their Creator, or the Supreme Judge, or divine Providence.
2. "But why in the world would I teach any of this as a music teacher...did you miss that?"
You began this tête-à-tête by bragging what a great conservative you are, and others are less because they are not employed by the system.
It was an error on your part, and you needed the take-down, and I was happy to do so.
3. Had you simply posted that you were one of the conservatives doing your part, this would not have been necessary.
4." The problem comes when conservatives lambaste every single public school system and teacher ..."
I sense a bit of projection here.
I have always made the attacks on the system and those who control it.
If you are upset about working in and for the system, find other work.
Don't demand credit for doing so.
5. I believe I have noted several times that I have friends who teach in the system, and are conservative.
We generally agree on the reality.
6. And, no....you didn't answer either of these questions"
Are you a product of the government schools?
What is your response to this:
"Poll: 73 percent of Republican students have withheld political views in class for fear their grades would suffer"

7. As you began by pounding your chest as to what a great conservative you are....could you name several books that have informed your conservative views....?
Or, would you like me to name some you might find educational?
"Right. And rather than go INTO the schools as I have done, and actually risk something as I have done,"

That's just one example, dear. Do not dare to tell me what I am and what I do, and do not dare to tell me what EVERY public school sea to shining sea is like. Perhaps you conceded the fight, but I did not, and do not to this day. And I do all this NOT belonging to the union.
So really
Looks like I put a burr under your saddle.
Good.
You will not teach that America is based on religion, on morality, on unalienable rights derived from God.
That is the central thesis of conservatism.
And it says so clearly in the Declaration of Independence.
And have you taught that the Supreme Court has no basis for 'separation of church and state???
No?
Perhaps you are not aware of the fact that FDR placed a KKKer on the Court, and he wrote that.
Perhaps you are a government school grad yourself.
Are you?
And, I have taught this in some classes I volunteered to teach for my home school groups.....at no salary.
Is there a reason you ignored this?

Please respond.
Here were your questions:

Poll: 73 percent of Republican students have withheld political views in class for fear their grades would suffer | The College Fix
7. As you began by pounding your chest as to what a great conservative you are....could you name several books that have informed your conservative views....?
Or, would you like me to name some you might find educational?
I'm not going to go chasing down every single one of your rabbit trails, nor do I have to. I will only ask this: are you in NYC? Do you assume all public schools from Alaska to Hawaii to CA to New Mexico to Montana to Alabama to Maine are just like the ones in NYC?
Why would you assume this?
The NEA sucks. That's why I don't belong.
We can tell anecdotes all day. Those don't paint a complete picture. Strangely conservatives understand this when it comes to, say, law enforcement, but totally buy in when it comes to teachers. Then, one stupid Leftist teacher in second grade means that EVERY SECOND GRADE TEACHER IS INDOCTRINATING OUR CHILDREN!!!
Really? That's airtight logic right there

What is wrong with you???
Everything I said, I've been able to document.
You, on the other hand, "Then, one stupid Leftist teacher in second grade means that EVERY SECOND GRADE TEACHER IS INDOCTRINATING OUR CHILDREN!!!"...
....when I have said several times that I have friends who are teachers, who are conservative.
1. You never answered when I asked if you are a government school grad.
2. You never stated what conservative views you've passed on to your students.
3. You've claimed that you deserve credit for teaching in the system....but I have seen no basis for any credit.
4. You have been unable to refute anything I've posted.
5. I don't know what is wrong with you....but I bet it's really hard to pronounce.
