This guy was a local activist, and VERY anti-cop, and in fact had called for violence against the police, and the overthrow of the U.S. government.

He was a vet who served in Afghanistan, a helicopter mechanic, and even did a pro-Army recruitment video for the Army.

The guy showed up at his daughters middle school, and the school called the police since there was a custody dispute between Landeros and his ex-wife.
The school was concerned that he was going to kidnap his daughter, thus why the police were called.

He immediately started resisting anything the police ordered him to do, and even with his daughter just feet away begging her dad to stop, he ended up fighting and then tried to shoot the officers, according to reports he got off two shots and nearly hit one of the officers.

Turned out that he had multiple clips in his backpack.
