How can you claim to be Christians and religious conservatives, yet flatly reject Jesus teachings and celebrate evil in the same manner as Anton Levay?

They praise Randism and they praise Christianity, yet Rand said Jesus was evil and her ideology is much closer to Anton Levay's.

You lack context, JB. To understand Rand, you need to understand Her History, what She survived. The best works relating to that are probably "Anthem", and "We The Living", in that order. Funny, I see you in particular, appreciating "Anthem" more than any other poster on this board. To Understand Ayn Rand and appreciate Her Value, One does not have to drink the Kool-Aid, or agree 100% with every view she had. Her Battle was against the lie of the Great Socialist Utopia. She called the threat for what it was. Was She a Christian??? No. A Self Proclaimed Atheist, that rings more like a Deist, yet she kept it to herself. Unalienable Rights, Justice, Conscience, Spirit, Value for Value. Those were cornerstones in how she lived her life. Perfect??? By no Means. But, Who is???

Like her man leaving her for a better woman while she threw a fit and declared he had no 'right' to sleep with an 'inferior woman'?

What value if there is demonizing any attempt to help another person and painting Jesus as the most evil man in history? Of all the antitheists, only Randians go so far as to deny that Jesus was a good person.

Unalienable rights? You mean like Jesus teaching us to defend and take care of the poor, the old, the sick, and the weak?

    All of which she condemned.

Jesus taught us that are own greed and lust should be second to what is right and good. Rand said such teachings are evil and ranted on about her own neo-Nietzschian philosophy of social parasites and the superior human beings worthy of life itself.

Embracing Fascism is not an acceptable response to the evils of Stalinism.

In most of her writings there are issues of Fidelity. I've always had issues with that personally. Women think differently than men in competitions, what's your point. We have Cat fights here on these boards too. Female = Drama. Figure out the Female mind and I will nominate you for a Nobel Prize. ;)

In her novels, her Hero's do help others, just on their terms not as slaves or indentured servants. She does advocate Liberty, Constructive Liberty, Responsibility, Clarity of Purpose, Fighting for what you Believe in, The Emperor's New Suit, Value for Value.

I disagree with her about Christ, so I try to understand her disconnect. Maybe she saw the Church, like many unbelievers, as Corrupted, as a means to control the greater unwashed, uneducated. The Church using Doctrine to provide an uncompensated, compliant, work force for those in control, with a promise of a better quality of life in the Resurrection to come. ;) Maybe the Church was not there for her when she reached out? I don't know. There are those that believe in the Church, there are those that believe in the Power of Almighty God, and actually choose God over Dogma, Conscience over Tradition, or the norm? Yes Rand had issues, yes she also contributed to higher value and understanding. Have you read "The Fountainhead"? There is allot in there, on her perception, right or wrong, that we are here for reasons other than to sacrifice from the Individual whatever Society demands, no matter how unreasonable or wrong, on Society's terms. "Brave New World" tackles that abuse too.

Hey, the Individual matters, You matter, I matter, there is no humiliation or abuse I can do to you in Society's name that is going to sit right with God. That is my Faith. The Emperor's New Suit. Every Voice matters, every witness. Do we focus on shutting people up, or rather that they strengthen Conscience and act on inspiration and purpose. Is it more important that we be in control or that Justice is served. If you had to choose between one and the other, where would you stand. If you find it in you, check out Anthem. See how that effects your perception of her. The little girl who's life fell apart post Russian Revolution.

I believe Jesus has compassion for her. I believe that for Each of Us, our value to Him, is greater than the Tangents we create while here. ;) Restoration, Reconciliation, Redemption.

So Gunny and Article15 are women?

    :meow:

Slaves? Indentured servants? She idolize the richest men on earth. You really mean to tell me they 'shrug' off the chains of slavery? :cuckoo:
Liberty does not mean 'freedom' from morality

Like ignoring the hungry and hiding away in your own gulf?

Like turning a blind eye to those who need help because empathy and compassion are evil?
    Hedonism hardly qualifies as purpose
You mean greed and 'fuck the poor'?
Didn't it turn out the emperor had no suit? You're just posting random buzzwords.
That's not what she said. She was no Reformist. She said putting anything above self-pleasure was evil.

You're tying to paint her as a biblical revisionist? Really? She embraced biblical liberal socialism and self-sacrifice and condemned the greed and hypocrisy of the Church?

    You can't be serious.

How, exactly? By advocating the same ideology that gave rise to fascism and saying the highest morality is the strong taking from the weak?

Not according to Rand. The weak don't matter. The only people who rightfully have a voice are those with the strength to impose their will.
