Here is what I don't get. The five are apparent illegal aliens and probably gang member, charged with murder. So why should ICE be involved, as they should stand trial for Murder, and if found guilty, be subject to prison for the better part of the rest of their lives. The article said "ICE lodges detainers on individuals arrested on criminal charges who ICE has probable cause to believe are removable noncitizens." I mean, we are talking Murder and conspiracy to Murder, evidence tampering, etc. Maryland does not have capital punishment, but they do have prisons, and my impression (true or not) is that ICE just kicks them out of the country and says don't come back, which they most likely would come back to possibly kill again.
