That would still be "considered" family, though loosely, just stay away from those comments in the future ... ;) It's pretty easy once you get the hang of it.

I did read that ... and I didn't see any connection to between letting the government control health care and keeping the price down. What I did see, which you are completely ignoring, is that other governments don't charge massive fees just for companies to operate within their borders like we do.

The US has a mix of capitalist and socialist systems in place, coupled with a horrific legal system for "malpractice"
Government money increases demand which increases price in a free market.
Malpractice insurance is high because of Legal fees and a trend to not ban doctors who regularly get charged with malpractice (I saw a study which showed 90% of malpractice was caused by 5% of doctors - get rid of those doctors and drop malpractice rates)
I have read of doctors who cannot make ends meet because of Malpractice insurance.

To have more doctors (Supply) we need to graduate more from medical school, without raising the already exorbitant costs of said education.
Reducing demand is complicated by the refusal of people to admit they are part of the problem - those who want insurance (and cannot or will not pay) insist it is required, but many with insurance see it as a ticket to go to the doctor every time they stub a toe. Sad to say but we need insurance which only pays for major costs, and lower overall medical costs.

You still haven't come up with any solution to the cost ... all you propose is shifting the cost and responsibility.

This post is precisely correct. All the liberals like Chris propose is to shift the cost from the consumer to the government aka the taxpayer. If lazy ass no loads like Chris would actually go out and get a job perhaps the country wouldn't be so fucked up. You liberal ass clowns have no clue as to what the value of an earned dollar is....all you want is a fucking freebee handout on someone elses dime.

I think people believe that the high cost of health care is going to go down just because of the Obama Health Care Reform they are trying to ram down our throats. Truth of the matter is, health care will still be expensive and if Pelosi gets her way this health care reform is going to cost everybody plenty. My question, and a question that nobody seems to come up with an answer to is simply this. If a person doesn't have health care now, how are they going to be able to afford it when the government says it's mandatory for you to buy it either from a health insurance company or a plan offered by the government? Are people suddenly going to be able to afford to buy health care just because the government says to buy it or face a fine?

Somehow, with smoke, mirrors and some fuzzy math, Obamacare will magically drop insurance premiums down to a few dollars a month? Now I know 100% that liberals not only are the most gullible, but down right stupid if they believe this load of horseshit!!!!

That's their whole plan...tax and fine the shit out of everyone for 4 years to pay off the budget deficit....then in 2013 government healthcare coverage starts at the taxpayers expense. How stupid does the Obama Administration think Americans are? Apparently they think they are so fucking stupid that they will allow themselves to be taxed and fined for 4 years BEFORE GETTING ANY BENEFITS!!!!!!!!!!

More evidence that we are devolving into a third world nation of haves and have nots.

A nation of selfish idiots who believe that money and ONLY money matters

... and what realistic way would you cut that cost?

How bout instead of me teaching you something.. You teach me and explain how 30,000 is reasonable for 5 minutes.. How is 6,000 a minute reasonable?? Or realistic..

I was in a hospital ER for 6 hours, flown to another hospital and the bill from the original ER was only 6,000..

So I ask again.. How is 30k reasonable for 5 minutes..

Gullible is following Bush around for 8 years and voting for him twice..

And since you really don't know much about the healthcare debate or the healthcare system.. Why don't you just bow out before you make yourself look like a bigger idiot..

Generally, it is your responsibility to answer her question first. That is generally the way things work.

But... she never said that $29,000 was reasonable. She asked Chris, I believe, how he thought we could bring down the costs. A very reasonable question as far as I am concerned. Current health insurance reforms being thrown about are not going to do that. So, the question remains, how do we lower that outrageous $29,000 for 5 minutes bill?

Something I think is also outrageous is the fact that the callous people at the hospital screwed up and sent the grieving parents a $29,000 bill in the first place and a rude letter when they should have been billing the insurance company. And they get away with, "It was a mistake"?

Also included with the bill was a letter addressed to Scott indicating he was now considered indigent and if he needed more medical treatment, to go to a county clinic.

UC Davis profusely apologized, stating the letter was never intended for the Hawkins.

The asshole that wrote that letter should be fired! Period!

This post is laughable, I work seven days a week, and make more money than you do.
