Why? Where's the story? Sepsis. It's a leading killer. Can be treated, but people die of this.

Doctors gave his cause of death as organ failure due to septic shock caused by influenza.

The man had an infection caused by the flu virus. The infection killed him in exactly the same way sepsis kills anyone. Young or old, strong or weak, otherwise healthy or not, that's what happens when someone suffers from sepsis and does obtain timely treatment for it.

My son, when he was 2 1/2, was diagnosed with septic arthritis in his knee, due to the flu. The rest of the family, we had had the flu, he never did, so we thought. The flu had attacked him with the sepsis. He was in the hospital for 10 days. Fortunately, he survived and his growth plate was not damaged.

I am sorry for this family.
